Process Description
The main raw
materials for manufacturing of ammonium chloride are ammonium sulphate and
sodium chloride.
Ammonium sulphate and 5 % excess of sodium chloride solution are charged into the reactor and agitated vigorously while heating. The material so obtained is filtered and washed repeatedly to remove traces of ammonium chloride. The ammonium chloride solution is run into crystallizing pan where it is cooled; it is crystallized out in lead-lined crystallizer.

The washed out effluents of the process need to be neutralized. To make the manufacturing process environment friendly, it is necessary to have a treatment basin.
